Venue - The Bristol Hotel, The River Grille & Bristol Registry Office

It all started on a bench overlooking the Bristol harbourside… Rachael & Brad’s first date ended with a stroll around the harbour, before stopping on a bench to take in the views. And just so it happens, their wedding breakfast location at The Bristol Hotel overlooks that very same bench about 20 metres from where it all began. So, we obviously had to pop out and take some pictures! We began the shoot with some getting ready shots at The Bristol Hotel, which was a mixture of elegant make up, checking ties in the mirror, tiny shoes & toy cars, as Rachael & Brad juggled parenting with wedding prep. The ceremony was held at Bristol Registry Office with around 50 of their friends, family and their two lovely children, where their youngest snoozed through the whole show!

Post ceremony we took a few shots on the Registry Office steps, and marched the full wedding party through the streets of Bristol, past the Saturday markets and the long queue of party goers for Love Saves the Day festival who gave us a big cheer in the clash of two worlds (to which Rachael waved back happily). A delightful wedding breakfast & some cracking speeches ensued at The River Grille, but my absolute highlight of the day came at an attempt to take some more intimate shots under Rachael’s veil. A few strong gusts of wind had Brad fighting his way out of the tangle, while trying to make sure Rachael didn’t take off with her new parachute. It was all embraced with a lot of laughter; a sneak peak into the joy & love between these two. My absolute favourite shots of the day.
