Hannah & Luke

120 German & British folk walk into a barn… No, this isn’t the start of an awful joke, but a tale of an incredible wedding celebration!

Venue - The Roundhill Barn & Bath Guildhall

Flowers - Golden Valley Meadow

I met both Hannah & Luke in a small square in Bath city centre, where we all walked together through the stunning city streets, passed the Abbey, welcomed to the doors of Bath Guildhall by a swarm of friends & family. Excited hugs & greetings went on for so long, with Hannah zooming from group to group, that I thought we might miss the ceremony! Once tightly packed into Bath Guildhall, their ceremony involved beautiful speeches from loved ones, two songs from one of their dearest friends, and a good helping of both laughter & tears.

For those that haven’t been to Bath Guildhall, the space outside for a confetti shot is not ideal for a party of 120. So, we’d organised to have everyone create a curved line along the pavement to fit everyone in & adding a stunning backdrop of the Bath Abbey. One quick instruction of confetti throwing to the German guests later (who knew this wasn’t a thing in Germany?), and a confetti carnage ensued! Hannah & Luke did not stop smiling & celebrating throughout, which resulted in confetti getting stuck in their teeth (which I later edited out with their blessing & thanks).

We all travelled to Roundhill Barn, up on the hill in Kelston. A simply restored off-grid Victorian barn with some of the best views in the South West. Guests enjoyed lawn games, an exquisite cake selection & glasses of champagne, with each guest receiving a glass with their name inscribed on. We were on a fairly tight schedule, and had a large list of both family & friends to capture in front of the great barn doors. But we managed to find a few minutes to adventure into the fields for a photoshoot & a quiet moment to take it all in overlooking the views of Somerset from the top of the hill. The joy in these shots says it all.
