Sophie & Alex
“Sam was absolutely brilliant. He made us feel so at ease that we forgot we had a photographer. And for two people who don’t love being in front of the camera it was absolutely perfect. We are over the moon with the photos of our day. Sam provided brilliant advice in the pre wedding meeting too and was easy to get in touch with if we had any questions especially on how to organise the confetti walkway. Couldn’t recommend him highly enough”
For a rainy August day (you really never can be sure!) we really had a blast! Hosted at Sophie’s family home, borrowing their neighbours land for a marquee ceremony, followed by reception, breakfast & first dance in a 2nd larger marquee that only just squeezed into the back garden.
The first thing I’ll say is, Sophie & Alex were amazing. If you’re having a wedding in August, and it rains, it would dampen the spirits of many couples. But Sophie & Alex brushed it off & cracked on, eager to have the best day with all of their friends & family. Speaking of, in our pre-wedding catch up Sophie mentioned to me that she rarely gets to see her brother anymore as he’s moved abroad. He made an incredible speech during the wedding breakfast, and I made sure to capture the emotional hug he had with Sophie straight after. He was also sporting a show-stopping moustache, so even more reason to have him on camera!
After the ceremony I handed Sophie & Alex my clear umbrellas I’d brought with me - very handy for getting some cracking couples shots in the rain, still allowing some good light to shine through. We made the most of the walk back to the reception, getting some great shots without spending too much time outside in the rain, which suited Sophie & Alex perfectly as they wanted to spend the majority of their day celebrating rather than on a photoshoot.
A big thank you to Sophie’s family for making me feel very welcome in their home, and especially Sophie’s mum Lucy for being an incredible host.
